Man seriously injured in Seneca County crash

OVID, N.Y. (WHEC) — A man was still in guarded condition Monday after a crash that left him critically injured Saturday.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office said it happened at around 10:15 a.m. between Center Road and Potter Road on Route 89 in Ovid, Seneca County.

When they arrived, deputies and firefighters found a man trapped inside a vehicle, unresponsive. Deputies began life-saving measures until South Seneca and Trumansburg Ambulance made it to the scene and North Seneca EMS took over.

Deputies say the driver of the vehicle was Tyler C. Huff, 21, of Ovid, and he reported minor injuries when Trumansburg Ambulance checked him over.

Another man was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Lifenet, where he is still in guarded condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
