DANSVILLE, N.Y. (WHEC) — A settlement has been reached in a fair housing case in Dansville.

Back in 2016, prosecutors say Cheryl Martinez tried to rent a unit at the Midtown Motel, but the property manager refused to rent to her because of her support animal.

In the settlement, Martinez is receiving $30,000 in damages and the motel will have to maintain non-discriminatory policies and provide Fair Housing Act training to employees.
