ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County Executive Adam Bello delivered his annual State of the County Address Thursday night.
From Monroe Community College, the county first had a moment of silence in solidarity with Ukraine.
The address then moved into the future of Monroe County supported by four pillars: Economic and workforce development, public safety, public health and infrastructure.
These key areas were developed with input from the community.
"The feedback we received was clear," Bello said. "Monroe County residents want a community that has opportunity, prosperity, support and an unmatched quality of life for all of its residents."
The county will be using $144 million from the American Rescue Plan to invest in "Re-envision Monroe."
Bello also announced the RETAIN program, which will provide a $2,000 bonus to graduates with a four-year degree in high-demand fields if they live and work in Monroe County for a least a year.
