Monroe County sees 2021’s second-deadliest month for opioid ODs in September

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office’s Heroin Task Force Wednesday released its September opioid overdose report.

September was the second-deadliest month for opioid overdoses so far this year at 14, just one fewer than June’s 15.

There were also 43 non-fatal overdoses last month.

The Sheriff’s Office also released the demographics of the victims. They ranged from 14 to 70 in age — 26 of them were in the City of Rochester, eight in Irondequoit, seven in Greece, five in Gates, and the rest in other suburbs.
