Monroe County to create active transportation plan
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County is looking to create its first transportation plan. The plan would include access beyond auto traffic when considering future planning for infrastructure projects.
The Monroe County Department of Planning is partnering with the Genesee Transportation Council to create the plan which would look to make biking, rolling, hiking, and running safer and more convenient for transportation.
People living in Monroe County can get involved in the planning process by attending one of two events in June.
On June 18, a pop-up event will allow for public input. That will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rochester Public Market at 280 N Union St.
Additionally, on June 29, a public workshop will allow for further discussion at the Highland Park Olmstead Lodge at 171 Reservoir Ave. from 3 to 7 p.m.
“This plan will help shape our infrastructure needs when we are planning roads, bridges and other transportation improvement projects," said County Executive Adam Bello.
