New COVID testing site opens in Albion today

ALBION, N.Y. (WHEC) — This new site is one of 13 across the state opening today.
The site in Albion will be on the SUNY Genesee Community Colllege at the Albion Campus Center at 456 West Avenue.
It’ll be open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The new site is a part of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s plan to reach some of the more rural communities that have been left out. Currently, people in rural places like Albion have limited options for testing and are forced to drive much longer distances.
COVID cases are also on the rise, so the additional testing site will help with the amount of people getting tested at each site.
