ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York signed new laws on Tuesday meant to strengthen the rights of people with disabilities.
The laws include a measure on supported decision-making and a public awareness campaign. Gov. Kathy Hochul also signed a bill into law to get rid of state residency requirements for beneficiaries in the New York ‘Able’ Program.
These five changes came on the 32nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
