ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) – In another step to quash the spread of Avian Flu, New York has banned all fowl auctions and sales.
The measure was announced Thursday by the State Department of Agriculture and Markets. The state previously banned all bird shows.
On April 1, Monroe County reported its first case of Avian Flu in a backyard flock of chickens, ducks and pheasants.
All these bans are in effect until further notice.
