New York flu cases jump 63% week to week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – New York State is reporting a 63% increase in flu cases week to week, and Monroe County continues to be one of the hardest hit regions.
The state’s flu tracker is updated each Friday and the current numbers are for the week ending April 9. Monroe County reported another 617 cases, which is up 32% from the previous week. Those numbers are well above other neighboring metro counties, with Erie reporting 100, and Onondaga at 182.
Statewide, 8,980 cases were reported in what’s become a late-season outbreak.
