NY launches damage assessment survey in bid to appeal FEMA denial of individual assistance for Tropical Storm Fred

SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York State has rolled out a damage assessment survey as part of its effort to appeal the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) decision to deny individual assistance for disaster-related costs incurred during Tropical Storm Fred.

Anyone who sustained damages during Tropical Storm Fred on Aug. 18 or Aug. 19 is asked to fill out the survey no later than noon on Sunday, Oct. 31.

Seneca County says even if you have previously reported damages, you will need to report them again using the survey linked here.

In addition to filling out the survey, you will need to take a reference photo of the home with the address number visible or with GPS coordinates and photos of and closeups of the damage.

For help filling out the form, you can call 518-292-1195 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
