NY Lottery resumes Mega Millions payouts after drawing wrong numbers
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York Lottery Thursday resumed Mega Millions payouts in New York at Lottery retailers after a human error resulted in the incorrect input of the winning numbers and the incorrect publishing of the Mega Ball number Wednesday.
The lottery says a total of $5,538 was paid to players who had tickets with the wrong numbers as a result of the mistake, but the payment was recouped automatically via a Lottery account for uncashed tickets so there was no impact on aid to education or taxpayer funds.
The New York Lottery said they are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
The Lottery has temporarily suspended prize payments for all Mega Millions tickets and all Mega Millions players should hold on to their tickets for the May 10, 2022, drawing until the issue is resolved.
The correct winning numbers for the May 10, 2022 drawing are: 15-19-20-61-70 and Mega Ball 9.
