Officer collides with flatbed at Bay and Goodman intersection

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – An RPD Officer was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident at the intersection of N. Goodman Street and Bay Street Wednesday evening.
At approximately 4:45 p.m. the officer, who will remain unnamed at this time, was traveling northbound on Goodman Street crossing the intersection.
At this same moment, a flatbed tow truck was traveling westbound on Bay Street crossing through the same intersection. Both vehicles collided front ends causing the tow truck to flip onto its passenger side.
The driver of the tow truck remained at the scene unhurt and was cooperative with the investigation.
The RPD officer was transported to Strong Hospital via AMR ambulance with a lower-body injury that is non-life-threatening.
Any traffic tickets or criminal charges are yet to be determined as the accident is still under investigation.
The Rochester Locust Club said that the officer was injured but is doing well.
