OGDEN, N.Y. (WHEC) — Ogden Police are searching for suspects in connection to a stolen car found in the City of Rochester Monday morning.

Additionally, police say several unlocked cars had items taken from them.

OPD says the thefts happened around 3 a.m. in the area of Coolidge and Coleman Avenue. Surveillance footage from a home shows at least three people walking in the street, with one person walking up a driveway to an SUV before walking away.

Police say the stolen vehicle was taken after suspects found a key fob in another unlocked car in the same drive. OPD says a Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but it did not stop. Per MCSO policy, deputies did not continue to follow it.

No suspects are in custody.

This incident comes just days after OPD charged a Rochester man in connection to another series of car thefts from the area. Police say several suspects stole roughly 8 cars between Ogden and Webster.

Officers reminded people to keep their doors locked.
