Ontario County man with previous conviction pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

CLIFTON SPRINGS, N.Y. (WHEC) — An Ontario County man with a previous conviction has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
Jerry Stearns, 50, of Clifton Springs, was first convicted of possession of child pornography in 2005 and sentenced to 120 months in prison and 10 years supervised release. Prosecutors say he was still on supervised release on May 13, 2019, when investigators found he was once again in possession of child pornography, some of which depicted prepubescent minors.
Stearns is scheduled to be sentenced on July 13. He faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of 20.
