Paper surveys now available for NY’s Broadband Assessment Program Survey

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — New Yorkers have a new method for filling out the Broadband Assessment Program Survey.

The New York State Department of Public Service (DPS) Wednesday announced that a toll-free consumer hotline and a mail-in paper option are now available in addition to the online survey.

New York State is doing its first in-depth statewide mapping study to figure out how available, reliable and expensive high-speed broadband services are.

As part of the process, DPS will eventually hold at least two public hearings. It says it will announce the hearing dates and locations "in the coming weeks".

DPS says it will publicly issue its report and recommendations by May 2022.

Click here to fill out the survey online, or call DPS’s hotline at 1-855-NYBBMAP (1-855-692-2627) to request the state send a paper version to your home with a return envelope that will include pre-paid postage.
