ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — With the deadly shooting near the playground of School #17 Sunday night in Rochester, the city has reached 80 homicides for the year.

The group "Pastors on Point" is doing something about it Monday. It’s holding a prayer rally at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on Joseph Avenue.

The group of faith leaders like Rev. Larry Quinn is encouraging people to come out and talk about the violence, pray for change, and stand with the community.

"These are our children, these are our brothers and sisters, these are our families that are impacted by this violence and we know the toll it takes on people’s lives and what significance that has for the future for us to move forward," Quinn said.
