BOHEMIA, N.Y. (WHEC) —The family of the New York woman found killed in Wyoming announced the formation of the Gabby Petito Foundation.
During a news conference Tuesday, the family offered few details but said they hope they can help other families with missing children. Her family also unveiled tattoos, all designed by gabby.
"We’re just hoping that through our tragedy losing gabby, in the future something can come out of it that we can help people in a similar situation reach out to these organizations that do similar things and find out what’s missing what can we do to fill that void what can we do to help people", Jim Schmidt, Gabby’s stepfather said.
Gabby Petito’s body was found in Wyoming and the investigators have declared it a homicide. She was last seen traveling cross country with fiancee Brian Laundrie. He returned home earlier this month without Gabby and has not been seen since Sept. 14. There is currently a warrant out for his arrest.
