ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The antiviral pills could cause severe or life-threatening interactions if taken alongside other medications.
Experts warn against taking Pfizer’s COVID pills with statins, blood thinners, and some antidepressants.
This comes after a new Merck COVID pill was said to have many side effects. Pfizer’s pill is regarded as safer and more effective, according to experts.
However, doctors and pharmacists are carefully monitoring people who are prescribed either pill.
The FDA has also put out recommendations for these pills’ use.
