ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — When will you need a third dose of the COVID vaccine? We could find out more about boosters this week.
Pfizer is expected to meet with top federal health officials Monday, it comes as the number of delta variant cases continues to rise across the United States.
Last week we told you Pfizer’s research suggests a third dose can offer more protection against the highly contagious variant, however, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration say Americans who have been fully vaccinated do not need a booster shot at this time.
Health experts say the vast majority of new cases, especially with the delta variant, are in unvaccinated communities.
