Police: 1 man shot on South Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police say a man is in the hospital after he was shot in the South Wedge Friday evening.
Police went to the scene on South Avenue near Gregory Street just before 5:30 p.m.
When officers got to the scene, they found a 32-year-old Rochester man with a gunshot to the lower body, He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, and he is expected to survive.
The surrounding streets have since opened to traffic.
Police did not say if they made any arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
