Police: 15-year-old charged in 2 burglaries, 1 attempted burglary of occupied Gates homes
GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — A 15-year-old is charged in two burglaries and one attempted burglary in Gates and police say in all those incidents, the residents were home.
Gates Police say they were able to arrest him when a Hinchey Road resident called 911 early Tuesday morning saying they noticed someone inside their house and were able to scare them off.
As police searched the area, they say more calls for a suspicious person started coming in. A Gates Police Lieutenant found the suspect near Howard Road and he took off running. A K9 unit with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office helped take the suspect into custody.
Police say they learned the suspect, who is from Rochester, was connected to more burglaries during their investigation.
He was brought to the Monroe County Youth Detention Center in Rush.
