ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — An 18-year-old from out of state was shot in the leg and police say they believe he may have been a victim of circumstance.

It happened at around 3 p.m. Wednesday on Pardee Street, which is right off of Joseph Avenue and one block north of Avenue D.

Police say soon after, they were told the victim arrived at Rochester General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say they don’t believe he was the intended target of the shooting, and that he was shot as a result of someone firing the gun on a busy city street.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
