ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police say two Rochester men were cut but are expected to survive after an incident on Alexander Street in the South Wedge Monday night.

It happened just after 9:15 p.m. near Van Street. Police say they found a 48-year-old man and a 38-year-old man who had both been stabbed in the upper body at the scene when they arrived.

Both of them were taken to area hospitals with what police say are non-life-threatening injuries.

While no one is in custody, police say they believe this was an isolated incident and there is no reason for neighbors to be concerned.

Alexander Street was closed between South Avenue and South Clinton Avenue for a couple of hours, but as of 11:30 p.m. Monday, it had reopened.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
