Police arrest more teenage suspects in connection to carjackings last week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester police arrested three more teenage suspects in connection with a series of carjackings between last Wednesday and Saturday

Last Thursday, police arrested a 16-year-old boy who they say drove a vehicle stolen from Dunn Street. On Saturday, police had a pursuit with the drivers of a vehicle stolen from Rocket Street. They arrested three teenagers – aged 15, 16, and 17 – including the same boy they took into custody two days earlier.

Three more teenagers – aged 14, 15, and 17 – were arrested this Wednesday in connection to carjacking. Police had a chase with a car that was stolen from East Main Street six days ago and apprehended one of the passengers, a 14-year-old. Later, officers responded to a call for a woman shot on Parkside Avenue. During the investigation, police arrested the 15-year-old and 17-year-old under suspicion of stealing a car last Thursday.

Also this Wednesday, police said a 26-year-old man was shot in an attempted carjacking on Varden Street and Richland Street. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and no one is in custody for the shooting.
