Police identify man shot and killed in Newark

NEWARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police identified the man shot and killed early Monday morning in Newark.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Miller Street in the village of Newark at around 2:55 a.m. Monday.
Police found 56-year-old James W. Taylor of Newark dead at the scene.
The Wayne County Coroner requested an autopsy by the Monroe County Medical Examiner, according to Newark Police.
Police have not said if any suspects are in custody.
Newark Police, New York State Police, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and Wayne County District Attorney’s Office continue investigating.
