Police: Ovid man facing charges after causing serious injuries to infant

OVID, N.Y. (WHEC) — An Ovid man is facing several charges after deputies say he caused serious injuries to an infant.

Seneca County Sheriff’s deputies say 27-year-old Jeremy Andrews was caring for the child who is younger than five years old, when the injuries happened.

Investigators say the child sustained a subdural hemorrhage of the brain and a broken femur.

Andrews was charged with reckless assault of a child, second degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is being held on $20,000 cash bail, $10,000 bail bond and an order of protection was issued.

He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 15.
