ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A man is dead after police say he was stabbed at the Exxon gas station at the corner of Clifford and Portland avenues early Wednesday morning.
The Rochester Police Department said a man in his 20s was stabbed and shot after an argument broke out outside the gas station store at around 2:30 a.m. The suspect or suspects fled the area.
News10NBC talked to Ahmed Saleh, the store clerk who was working at the time, and he described what happened as he was taking care of some customers.
"I got two customers, two ladies and she said somebody shot, you know. I closed the door, and she goes outside before I closed the door, and the other guy is coming to here, and he said please open the door, and the security, he said no because I don’t want somebody who got shot in my store," Saleh said.
The victim, who police later identified as Kenneth Hightower, 24, of Rochester, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
As of Thursday, police still had no suspects in custody.
