Police release name of man who died in hit-and-run on Culver Rd.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police have identified Samuel Thompson, 67 of Rochester, as the man who died after a hit-and-run on Wednesday morning.

RPD said Thompson was walking on Culver Road when a vehicle struck him. Police responded to reports of a man lying in the intersection of Culver Road and Bay Street with a severe head injury around 3 a.m.

Police called emergency services to take Thompson to Strong Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators said the driver was traveling northbound on Culver Road. They’re asking for the public’s help to find a suspect and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
