Police respond to Ames Street, RPD investigation

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — An investigation is underway after police responded to the 400 block of Ames Street for the report of a person shot, but a medical evaluation showed the injury was sustained by means other than a gun shot.

According to RPD, just after 2 a.m., officers responded to Ames Street and located a 24-year-old female who had a visible injury.

She was transported to an area hospital by ambulance where a medical evaluation suggested that her injury was not from a gunshot.

She is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
