ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police are investigating after they say a Rochester man appeared to have gotten stabbed during an altercation Thursday night.

It happened just before 9:45 p.m. near Mitchell Street and Barberry Terrace.

Police say the suspect was still on scene, armed with a knife when they arrived.

While officers were tending to the victim, a 55-year-old, and working to take the suspect into custody, they say a family member arrived at the scene and they are “irate” that their loved one had been cut.

Police say the victim’s injuries are to his lower body and do not appear to be life-threatening.

Investigators say they believe this was an isolated incident, and they are still working to determine what charges to file.
