Police searching for shooter after Monday morning shooting

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The search is on to catch the person responsible for shooting a man on the west side of Rochester Monday morning, police said.
The shooting happened just before 12:45 a.m. at Brown and Wentworth Streets.
This shooting marks the 360th person shot in Rochester in 2021, it’s the most people shot in a year over the last decade, according to data from RPD. A total of 335 people were shot in 2020, which was the previous high.
The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
