Power Outage latest: 16,750 without power in Rochester region

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – Utility crews continue to work to restore power after Saturday’s wind storm.

RG&E is reporting about 7,600 without power throughout Monroe County, most in Greece, Gates, Chili and Brighton. National Grid has another 9,150 in Monroe, Orleans, Livingston and Genesee Counties. The numbers are slowly decreasing as the News10NBC team continues to track.

Power Outage Tips:

  • Always keep battery-operated flashlights and radios on hand, along with drinking water and non-perishable food in case of an outage.
  • Make sure your phones, tablets and other mobile devices are fully charged.
  • Keep refrigerators and freezers closed as much as possible.
  • Stay at least 30 feet from downed power lines.
