Professional soccer returns to Rochester on Saturday

ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — Professional soccer is returning to Rochester.

The team formerly known as the Rochester Rhinos is back after four years with a new name. It’s now known as Rochester, New York FC.

The first official home game is on Saturday at the John Dimarco field at Monroe Community College. The team is a part of Major League Soccer’s Next Pro League.

The game will be at 7 p.m. and Rochester will take on New York City Football Club II. Ticket prices range from $12 to $22.

The sporting director of RNY FC, Lee Tucker, said the team is excited to play in front of fans.
