ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A community-based group has rallied in support of Sister Grace demanding she be reinstated at the House of Mercy.

The community group consists of community activists, homeless activists, clergy, community members and business owners. In a statement released to the media, the community group says it is asking for three things:

  1. Immediate reinstatement of Sister Grace as Executive Director, she can work in collaboration with Tammy Butler;
  2. Reform the Board – Diversify the board to reflect all economic backgrounds; and
  3. Include all Stakeholders – The people, particularly the homeless need a voice at the table.

For the first time in 35 years, the House of Mercy in Rochester is going through a leadership change.
