ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester firefighters are looking into an early morning fire at a home on Santee Street in Rochester.
The call came in just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
All three apartments in the building were occupied at the time but everyone did get out safely.
Firefighters said they quickly attacked the fire on the 1st floor as fire was extending to the second floor and attic. Additional crews searched the structure and did not find anybody else home.
A second alarm was requested due to the size of the structure and the amount of fire extending throughout the structure.
Firefighters said one cat did die in the fire.
It took crews about 45 minutes to get the flames under control.
There were no injuries.
