Robert Milby to be the new Wayne County Sheriff

WAYNE COUNTY, N.Y. (WHEC) — Soon, there will be a new sheriff in town in Wayne County.

Current Sheriff Barry Virts decided not to run for re-election. At the end of 2021, he will retire after more than 20 years as Wayne County Sheriff.

Robert Milby defeated Stephen MacNeal Jr. taking two-thirds of the vote, 11,353 – 5,781.

The two candidates both ran in June with Milby winning the Republican Primary, getting more than 63% of the vote.
