ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – The new International Plaza on Clinton Avenue held its formal grand opening Sunday.
City and community leaders celebrated a new splash of international flavor and business in a Rochester neighborhood.
Advocates with the Ibero American Development Corporation joined Rochester Mayor Malik D. Evans and City Council President Miguel Melendez to inaugurate the market.
The international plaza is billed as a venue for entertainment, cultural activities, global cuisines, and products with a Latin flavor.
Mayor Malik D. Evans said, "This is great for our entire city and particularly in this neighborhood. This neighborhood needs hope. They need opportunity. But more importantly, they need a place where people can come together. These are people not only from the neighborhood, but from outside of the neighborhood coming together to have a good time to celebrate a Sunday on this beautiful day that we have."
The International Plaza will be open every Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. from now until the middle of October.
The International Plaza is located at 828 North Clinton Ave., Rochester, NY 14605.
