ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester City School Board will begin budget deliberations on Tuesday.
The superintendent’s proposal has already undergone revisions from the state-appointed monitor. Now it’s the board’s turn to comb through the pages.
Public attendance is allowed, but it is limited to the first 20 people who arrive and there’s no public comment for the first deliberation meeting. The board will go over the budget book’s preface, Financial Structure and District Budget Details, Revenue Summary, Position Summary, Administration Management, Debt Service, Districtwide Non-program Services Budgets and Capital Improvement Plan sections.
All of the materials related to the meeting will be accessible online on the day of the meeting.
Tuesday’s meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. in Conference Room 3A/B at the Central Office at 131 W Broad St.
The meeting will be available on the Rochester City School District’s Facebook and YouTube pages, and on its website.
The RCSD had to revise its budget at the beginning of the month after the school board discovered an additional $6 million in overstated revenue and the state’s appointed monitor made RCSD draw up a new version reducing its dependence on the fund balance from $30 million to $10 million.
