ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester families offer Christmas salutes to local service members.
The Blue Star Mothers of Rochester, Chapter NY8 hosted the Lights of Honor Ceremony Sunday afternoon at the Blue Cross Arena.
The ceremony is to honor military personnel – past and present. Organizers say it is important to recognize them, especially around this time of year when a lot are missing their families.
A member of each branch will be hanging an ornament with the names and photos of service members on the tree at the Blue Cross Arena. It will be on display the rest of this month.
