Rochester gas prices jump more than 7 cents in a week

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The average price of gas in the Rochester area has jumped 7.3 cents over the past week, according to GasBuddy.

The average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded stands at $3.64, with a range of $3.31 on the low end and $3.85 on the high side.

Their weekly survey of 319 stations also indicated an almost 16 cent rise since one month ago, and $1.11 higher than one year ago.

Both GasBuddy and AAA cite the Russian threat against Ukraine as a contributing factor to the recent surge.
