ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester General Hospital hosted a toy drive Saturday morning.
Donors lined up Saturday morning to contribute to a toy drive for the pediatric center at Rochester General Hospital. The hospital reports that its supply of toys for young patients is running low.
County legislator Paul Dondorfer joined the hospital to collect toys, games, coloring books, and stuffed animals to brighten up a stay at RGH.
"An event like this is important for a couple of reasons. A, it’s for the kids which is a huge thing for the community to get behind and support, and like I said before, being in the hospital as a kid is a very traumatic experience and anything that can ease that burden on to them is something that we are all in to try and do," said County legislator Paul Dondorfer.
Organizers say for kids going through treatment in the hospital, the happiness and normalcy that toys can provide is immeasurable.
