ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The City of Rochester is looking for as many as 30 restaurants to take part in the next round of its Senior Meal Delivery Program.

The city has run the popular program twice before to help seniors access food during the pandemic, and help restaurants at the same time.

Restaurants that agree to bring free meals to seniors who have transportation difficulties will receive up to $50,000 in grants. They must be in good standing with all regulatory requirements, including zoning codes, taxes and fees, insurance and fair hiring practices in order to receive the money.

Two informational Zoom sessions are coming up on Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. for interested restaurant owners. Click here to register.

Eligible seniors 55 and older can call 211 to register to receive meals.
