Rochester man arrested for illegally possessed, loaded handgun

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police officers have arrested a 27-year-old Rochester man early Sunday morning.

According to police, at approximately 4 a.m., offices responded to Lewis Street between Scio Street and Davis Street for the report of people fighting.

Upon arrival, police say they saw a male, later identified as the suspect, begin to leave the location in a car. The suspect was stopped nearby.

During the investigation, police learned the suspect pointed a handgun at several people. The suspect was taken into custody. An illegally possessed and loaded handgun was recovered next to where the suspect was seated in the vehicle.

The suspect, who has not been named, is charged with:

• Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree
• Menacing 2nd Degree
• Harassment 2nd Degree
