Rochester man pleads guilty to receiving child pornography via Snapchat

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man has pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography.

Prosecutors say Roger Roberts, 50, persuaded a 13-year-old girl living in England to send him sexually explicit photos and videos involving herself and a five-year-old girl over Snapchat between May and October of 2020.

New York State Police Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation.

Roberts is scheduled to be sentenced on June 15. He faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison, a maximum of 20, and a $250,000 fine. He was arrested last May in Wolcott, N.Y., when troopers found a dozen guns, damaged phones, and computers with dozens of illegal images on them.
