Rochester Philharmonic ‘Or-KIDS-tra’ concert

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra took the stage for its "orKIDstra" show called "Clarinet and his Friends" on Friday.

The event acquainted Rochester area children with the gift of music and served as a lesson in acceptance.

In the program, nervous Clarinet, who’s been invited to perform with the RPO, is worried about fitting in because he looks and sounds different from the other instruments in the orchestra.

As Clarinet meets all the instruments, he learns how—despite all their differences—they can create beautiful music together.

The program features a wide range of orchestra repertoire that highlights the clarinet, including Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Sousa.
