Rochester Police: 2 shot in overnight shootings

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Rochester Police say two people showed up shot at two different hospitals overnight.

First, police say a man was dropped off at Rochester General Hospital around 10 p.m. Monday. Officers are still working to figure out where the shooting happened.

They say the man did not tell them what led to the shooting or any kind of location. The man is expected to survive.

Next, in a similar case, around 2:45 a.m. another gunshot victim–a man in his 30s, was dropped off at Strong Memorial Hospital. He’s expected to live.

Police believe he was shot on Lyell Avenue near Dewey Avenue but they are having a hard time learning more about the crime because of what they say they have and haven’t been told.

More than 400 people have been shot around Rochester in 2021.

No suspects are in custody in either overnight shooting.
