ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Rochester Police say three people are in custody after leading police on a car chase that ended in a crash Tuesday night.
Officers say it started just after 10 p.m. when police spotted a stolen car near North Street, RPD says the car had been used in an attempted robbery with a gun a few days before. As police tried to pull the car over, the driver kept going, and that led to the chase.
Eventually, police say the driver lost control and hit both a fire hydrant and a light pole on Woodbine Avenue near Chili Avenue. The three people in the car ran from the crash but were then caught by police.
RPD did not say what charges may be pending.
