Rochester Police: Car stolen with dog inside
Editor’s Note: The puppy that was in the stolen car Saturday night has been returned to its owner. Eric Berg says he just retrieved "Benny" this evening. Berg says someone returned the puppy and collected the $2,000 reward.
Berg says RPD was also given a tip on the stolen car which remains missing at this time.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A $2,000 cash reward, no questions asked, has been announced for the return of a missing puppy by the name of Benny that was in a car stolen on Saturday evening.
Officers received the call that the vehicle was stolen at East Avenue and Alexander Street.
Police say the vehicle had been left running at the time it was taken.
The vehicle is in the Rochester Police system as stolen and officers are currently working the investigation and hope to find it and the dog.
The missing car is a black Toyota RAV4. Benny, a 6-month-old Havanese puppy, is described as brown and white and weighs 15 pounds.
