Rochester Police investigating car theft on East Ridge Road

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police are investigating a violent car theft that happened in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts on East Ridge Road near North Clinton Avenue on Sunday.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Police say the victim, a 55-year-old woman from Greece, told them three teenage boys came up to her, knocked her to the ground, and took her keys from her.

Police say one of the suspects drove off in the woman’s car, while the other two drove off in the vehicle they had arrived in.

A few hours after the incident, police found the woman’s car on Seth Green Drive, and it was returned to her.

The woman wasn’t hurt according to police.

Police say they are following up on “several leads”. They did not say they had anyone in custody.
