Rochester Police: Man facing felony charge after deadly hit and run

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man is facing a felony charge in connection to a deadly hit and run earlier this month.

Police announced 72-year-old Eddie Jones was arraigned in Rochester City Court Tuesday morning for leaving the scene of a deadly crash.

The crash happened on Aug.15 at the corner of Brown Street and Broad Street. Police say they responded to a report of a crash at 9 p.m. and found a 54-year-old lying in the road when they arrived.

Witnesses told police the man was hit by a car that fled the scene. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and police say he later died from them.

Earlier Tuesday, a Rochester woman was charged in connection to a different deadly hit and run.
